It uses a clever slot system, so no tools are needed. For the low pit, slot the base plate into the flame side plates, then add the two ventilation plates. For the raised pit, build the support rack from the Ozpig support plates, rack supports and stabilisers, then sit the low pit on top. For the fire ring, work in a circle, alternating flame side plates, ventilation plates and support plates.

A6. Burn dry, seasoned hardwood - it takes standard pre-packaged firewood logs - plus charcoal or heat beads for cooking. On first use, burn it in: run the fire hot so the paint reaches over 350°C for about an hour to cure. Expect some minor warping of the panels on the first burn; this is normal and won't stop it assembling.

Let it cool completely, then remove the cold ashes and wipe it down. Pack the panels flat into the included carry bag and store somewhere dry. If surface rust appears, clean it back with steel wool or a wire brush and touch up with high-temperature paint.
